Medical Massage Practitioner/Oncology Massage Preferred Provider I am a native of Tuscaloosa Alabama with over 25 years' experience in wellness management/services. My education consists of an Associate Degree from Shelton State Community College, a Massage Therapy Certificate from Massage Life & Wellness Academy, an Alabama State Board of Massage Therapy Certification, a Massage Therapy Instructor Certificate, a Medical Massage Practitioner Certificate from LMT Success Group, a Cosmetology Certificate, a Cosmetology Instructor Certificate, an Alabama State Board of Cosmetology Certification, an Alabama State Board Cosmetology Instructor Certification, an Oncology Massage Certificate, as well as some business courses from the University of Alabama. My career path transitioned from cosmetology student to co-oping at Gayfers Hair and Nail Salon in 1997. Once my co-oping was completed, I decided to become an Independent Operator, where I was able to take my career to another level and utilize my professional skills learned at Shelton State and Gayfers. After I built a foundation for my career, I moved on to achieve becoming a Managing Cosmetologist, and then becoming a Master Cosmetologist. In the midst of all of this, I was also given the opportunity to be one of few chosen to work for the Alabama State Board of Cosmetology as a National Certified Examiner. Several years later I reached another milestone by becoming a Cosmetology Instructor and hired on as an Adjunct Instructor at Shelton State Community College. In 2015, I took my career to another level by becoming a Massage Therapist. I furthered my career by completing 40 hours of hands-on training to become a Medical Massage Practitioner. My most recent training was in July 2023 competing 24hrs of hands-on training in Oncology Massage. For the past few years, I’ve been working with Optum Insurance/VA Medical Center caring for our veterans. Currently I am the owner of CoraBella Wellness Spa where we strive to care for the people we serve. Our vision is to be a leading innovator in health and wellness, internally and externally.
