Christopher Deery, LMT, BCTMB embraces the evolving environment of massage therapy. He is passionate about the sciences, anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, and has spent considerable time volunteering with the Massage Therapy Foundation as a subject matter expert on the topic of the role of massage therapy for pain. You can access these meta-analyses by the Massage Therapy Foundation and the Samueli Institute by following the links: General Pain Populations, Oncology Pain Populations, and Surgical Pain Populations. Seemingly always jovial, Christopher drops a pun or joke into almost every presentation he facilitates. Christopher is extremely passionate about the evolution of massage in healthcare via research and education. In his private practice, he blends this academic approach with compassion and understanding, preferring to focus on facilitating progress through the oncologic experience. With Anatriptic Alchemy, he and his partner Xerlan Deery, LMT, BCTMB have pioneered sports massage for cancer patients and thrivers with their class Active Survivor, Sports Massage for Active and Competitive Survivors. Christopher is an approved provider with Unite 4 Her, a preferred provider and registered educational provider with the Society for Oncology Massage, and volunteers with the Young Survivor's Coalition, providing Oncology Sports Massage for participants of the Tour de Pink. He is also a dedicated volunteer with the American Massage Therapy Association, devoted champion for the Massage Therapy Foundation, and advocate for the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.
