About

Oncology massage is my coming home to the healing field. It was born of the need to support my father during his terminal illness and is now my passion and my livelihood. I have always wanted to be of service to people in time of illness and was initially schooled in western medicine; graduating with an MD in 1986 from the University of the Philippines. I came to the US in 1987 and worked in clinical laboratories prior to heading back home to take care of my father. After his passing, I studied massage therapy and graduated from the Muscular Therapy Institute in 2001. Soon after graduation, I specialized in oncology massage. I have been working at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute: Zakim Center for Integrative Therapies and Healthy Living since 2003 where I serve full time as the lead oncology massage therapist. I use my knowledge of medicine and oncology massage to provide safe and effective sessions for patients of all ages in all stages of cancer. I have deep gratitude to my patients, for their trust and for allowing me to partner with them throughout their healing journey.
