S4OM Committees
S4OM Committees exist to support members and our cancer community. Each standing committee has their own mission and a defined set of responsibilities. Some work to create opportunities for connection, others develop education standards, establish promotional tools, or upgrade our knowledge, just to name a few.

The Education Committee works with the Board of Directors (BOD) to ensure all Recognized Education Provider Organizations (REP orgs) align with S4OM guidelines regarding Standards of Practice, the Code of Ethics, and current best practices.

Standing Sub-Committees
- Application Review Team (ART) reviews the education applications in collaboration with the Education Committee. Members: Mary Aguilera-Titus, Lucy Allen, and Ka Man Cheung
- REP Organization Application Revision (ROAR) team reviewed and revised the applications and Education Standards. Members: Mary Aguilera-Titus, Erika Slocum, and Estelle Smits.
- Educator Forum Sub-Committee designs and coordinates regular online forums. The committee also hosts the Educator Forum in concert with the attached to the Oncology Massage Healing Summit. Members: Karen Armstrong, Jill Cole, Annette Lovett, Mary Peifer, Cheryl Smith, and Carolyn Tague.

The Finance Committee is led by the Treasurer who works with the Bookkeeper and the President to develop and monitor the organization’s budget and spending. This committee also addresses financial accountability and the fiscal soundness of the association. The committee works to secure donations and grants, and may form ad-hoc fundraising subcommittees for specific campaigns as needed.

The Regional Champions Initiative works with the Board of Directors (BOD) along with the Marketing and Education Committees. They are responsible for creating opportunities for members of our community to connect on a local level. The Regional Champion groups provide Preferred Practitioners a chance to network and participate in continuing education and professional development experiences.

The Summit Planning Committee works with the Board of Directors (BOD), Marketing, and Education Committees and the host institution of the Oncology Massage Healing Summit to facilitate this biennial event. They are tasked with recruiting and scheduling speakers, exhibitors, and sponsors. They also are responsible for developing event logistics.

The Marketing and Communications Committee works with the Board of Directors (BOD) to set standards for and to create or review the publications used to communicate with S4OM membership and the community. They also work with the BOD and Education Committee to create practice tools for Preferred Practitioners and education tools for Recognized Education Provider Organizations. They also generate press releases and lead outreach to the media.

The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee works to bring awareness to DE&I in the organization. Engaging administrative support, volunteers, and members in DE&I conversation and training, reviewing and developing polices and procedures that will promote DE&I.
