Nearly twenty years ago, I followed my heart and enrolled in massage school. During that time I became pregnant with my lovely daughter, Tia. I am certain that my growing belly caught the eye of the baby-adoring Keri Smith in a reflexology seminar we had both signed up for, and allowed me the great fortune to befriend her. We have remained dear friends and colleagues since those early days. Keri and I worked together for several years over a decade ago, and I am overjoyed at the opportunity to join Nurturing Touch & Wellness. During the early days of my practice, I focused on taking continuing education coursework that specialized in working with women before, during, and after their pregnancies, and of course the wonderful bundles of joy that came along with them. Over the past decade, I’ve taken extensive coursework that focused on working with individuals who have been diagnosed with cancer, the geriatric community, and those nearing the end of life. I find deep fulfillment in providing comfort and caring touch to these individuals. Three years ago, my own father was diagnosed with cancer, and while it was an incredibly difficult path, I was so grateful to have the knowledge and ability to team with hospice in providing him with care and comfort in his final months. I consider it such an honor to work with folks of all ages along life’s spectrum, but find it especially sacred to work with those entering the world and those nearing the end of their journey. Everybody and every body is different! During my sessions, I enjoy taking time to listen carefully to each individual and cater every session accordingly.
