Shannon is a licensed massage therapist who has been in practice since 2008.

Before massage therapy, she earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a clinical master’s degree in addiction studies, both from the University of Cincinnati. For the past four years, the focus of her work has been in hospital-based massage therapy and end-of-life care.

She is currently the Senior Massage Therapist at the UC Health Blood Cancer Healing Center (BCHC), and a member of the Osher Center for Integrative Health team at the University of Cincinnati.

Before coming to the BCHC, she was a member of the Integrative Care team at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and a hospice volunteer providing holistic care.

Her prior work as an addiction counselor has encouraged a trauma-informed, whole-person approach to care, which is why integrative health is so important to her.

In addition to massage therapy, she provides Healing Touch, reflexology, acupressure massage, and mindfulness-based approaches, depending on the patient’s needs. She is a preferred practitioner with the Society for Oncology Massage (S4OM), where she also sits on their Education Committee and is their Ohio Regional Champion, and is Board-certified by NCBTMB.
