Abigail Levinson Marks, PhD is a Clinical Psychologist in private practice in San Francisco, CA, where she works with children, adolescents and adults, with a particular focus on helping families cope with illness and loss. Dr. Marks has over 20 years of experience creating collaborative mental health interventions with partners in other disciplines (education, medicine, art). She was the Director of Child and Family Services at Access Institute in San Francisco for 11 years and founded the in-school therapy training program there. In 2014, after the death of her husband from glioblastoma, she founded the Milton Marks Family Camp for brain tumor families in collaboration with the UCSF neuro-oncology department.

Breakout: Bodywork Included: The Milton Marks Family Camp. A novel, multi-disciplinary intervention for families living with brain cancer

This session will describe the history, development, implementation, and evaluation of a holistic multi-disciplinary intervention for the families of children where one of the parents has a malignant brain tumor. The session will include individual presentations from and a panel discussion with the clinical psychologist and founder of the camp, a neuro-oncology nurse, and oncology massage therapist who have worked at the camp.
