After 3 yrs. of study and 20 years in my field I have a broad and skilled background. I found reward working with acute injuries and chronic conditions, pro athletes, palliative care, developing treatments for high end spas and teaching anatomy/physiology to massage therapy students. The massage therapy modalities that I find most beneficial are Oncology Massage, Manual Lymphatic Drainage and ACE Medicupping. ACE Medicupping is a helpful modality used for lymphatic balancing and increasing circulation as well as decreasing pain and inflammation. Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a gentle type of massage that is helpful in re-routing lymphatic fluid past compromised lymph nodes and reducing edema following surgery. When a family member completed cancer treatment and their lymphatic system was compromised and completely overwhelmed, lymphedema resulted. This inspired me to become certified in Manual Lymphatic Drainage. Choosing a knowledgeable therapist who uses safe and effective techniques is essential.
